I planted one cucumber plant and it is growing very nicely. I don’t know the variety that I selected. I purchased the plant from a small mom & pop garden center that has since closed for the season. I have it growing on a trellis in my small garden. The sun is on it for a good part of the day. The tentacles are reaching 6-7 feet high. It has produced only four cucs so far. The first one was sort of green and 14″ long and roughly 2-2 1/2″ diameter. After about four days it lost its greeness and became yellow. It tasted fine. The 2nd cuc mostly did the same and the 3rd and 4th cucs are mostly yellow and about 17″ long. They never did turn green. I didn’t pick them earlier because I thought they would eventually turn green but they just got longer. Is it the variety I planted or is it a victim of poor farming–this is the second year of trying to plant cucs–the first go-around wasn’t very successful.
