I am growing mine in a milk jug turned upside down, from seeds, very easy. hung in a sunny window and water every day. Already I have ten cucumbers on two plants.
Easy directions:
Start your seeds, when they are a couple inches tall, cut the bottom out of an empty milk jug, flip over and prepare for hanging by punching holes and adding wire or string. put seedling in the (now)bottom, where you would have poured the milk. add dirt to the top until full. line top with newspaper to keep moist. hang in the sun and wait!
I have done cherry and larger tomatoes and we LOVE the results! my blog has pics if you are really interested in my cheap imitation topsy turvy tomato, pepper, and cucumber planters :)
